About Freedoms Shop
The Freedoms Shop is an NHS sexual health promotion initiative run by Camden Provider Services.
The
Freedoms Shop grew out of
the Freedoms Scheme. The Freedoms Scheme was set up in 1999 by Camden
Provider Services (then known as Camden PCT) with the aim of helping to
combat rising numbers of new HIV infections among the capital’s gay
communities.
Through
the Freedoms Scheme, Camden Provider Services is contracted to
distribute well over 2.5 million free condoms and lube sachets to London’s gay bars and
clubs every year.
Because the scheme purchases such huge numbers of condoms, we have been able to negotiate huge discounts on prices. In 2003, we decided to offer our wide selection of high-quality, low-priced condoms and lubricants to the general public and to other NHS organisations – and the Freedoms Shop was born.
We now supply many NHS trusts and GPs across the UK with our top-quality products at incredibly low prices.
